Next, open QuickBooks Desktop on the computer that will be accessing the company file. From the main menu, select "File" and then Hit the Open or Restore Company option. Now select "Open a company file" and click "Next." Browse to the location of the company file on the mapped drive and select it. Click "Open" to open the company file from the mapped drive. That's it! You have now successfully mapped the shared folder in QuickBooks for multi-user access and can access the company file from the mapped drive. Repeat these steps on each computer that needs access to the company file.
Open the QuickBooks Company File: On each computer, open QuickBooks and open the company file stored in the shared folder. You should now be able to access and edit the company file in multi-user mode.
